#TV #Nigeria | Real Housewives of Lagos?
Picture: Kenya Moore & Stacie Turner

Only weeks after the African adaptation of America Next Top Model is launched, it is time for the Real Housewives franchise to go to the Motherland. Rumors have that NBCUniversal is thinking of bringing Bravo TV's Real Housewives to Nigeria for a show to be titled the Real Housewives of Lagos. Linda Ikeji's blog reports that the show will follow the lives of 5 – 8 rich women between 30 and 50, and of course the marital status won't really matter.

The producers could be even more creative and fly their most Nigerian American Housewives to Lagos so they can interact with the African cast. Atlanta's Kenya Moore will definitely bring the heat for being a fabulous twirling goddess and dating a Nigerian Oil Tycoon. On the opposite side, Stacie Turner from the DC franchise has a beautiful story. She was adopted and did not know the identity of her biological father. In 2011 Stacie went to Nigeria and reunited with her birth father Nze Augustine Onyema and her 10 siblings.

Do I think the Real Housewives of Lagos is a great concept? Not at all! When you watch what goes down among the American cast, it is totally mind-blowing to learn that African women would want to degrade themselves while cat fighting, gossiping and being drama queens in front of the camera. Of course this is not the message that will be advertised but we all know that at the end, this is what the producers are looking for, because people watch the show for the drama. Drama is juicy!

Would I watch the show? Of course! Like I said drama is juicy! I am pretty sure it will be entertaining!
What about you, will You Watch The Real Housewives of Lagos?
