#Cinema | Lupita Nyong'o gets emotional about her role in '12 Years A Slave'

Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong'o has been generating serious Oscar buzz for her role as Patsy in the movie "12 Years A Slave."  In the movie, Patsy is a tortured slave who is constantly raped by her master.

In a sit down with Essence, Lupita described Patsy as an agile and hardworking woman who goes through a lot of pain.

When asked how she felt about being praised for her acting, Lupita got very emotional, "It's been overwhelming," she said. Watch the short interview with Essence here!

  1. I still have not yet seen this film. I have heard and seen nothing but great things. This is a wonderful site! There are so many great articles on here! As I was saying before about the film, I love how classy and respectable she is, and so well spoken.

  2. I wanna see this movie so bad. I wanna see it more now, she seems like she is wanting to do more than just make a good movie she has goals and ideals she wanted to uphold in taking this role and really shed light on the truth of the past.
