#FoodPorn | Try out this Bissauan Recipe Made of Avocado, Tuna + Coconut

Coconut, avocado and tuna are three foods we rarely match for one dish in Africa. Actually, it is a first for us to encounter such a composition for a dish. However, this is a specialty from Guinea-Bissau and it is one of their most famous recipes.

In case you’ve never tried the Abacate Recheado Com Atum (Tuna Stuffed Avocado) and are looking for something original that will upgrade your meal times and excite your taste buds, try this very simple recipe.

It only takes 15 minutes when you have your ingredients ready.

1 can of tuna, drained
2 ripe avocados
4 teaspoons of spicy tomato sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup of whipped cream
3/4 cup freshly grated coconut
Black pepper
4 tablespoons shredded roasted coconut

Cut the avocados in half lengthwise and remove the core

With a spoon, remove the flesh gently, making sure not to damage the skin of the avocado

Place the avocado flesh in a bowl, mash it then mix with tuna, whipped cream, spicy tomato sauce and grated coconut.

Season with salt and black pepper then use the mixture to fill the avocados.

Drizzle with lemon juice and roasted coconut.

And Enjoy
